Starting a business can be intimidating and scary! But we are taking this journey together and I hope we can learn and grow along the way. I will share with you the 3 things that helped me in regards to starting my own business.
Business ownership is a huge deal. As a mother, starting my own business was my avenue to be a full time present parent. I wanted to be able to spend more time at home with my children. Now that I have a third child on the way, the last thing I want to do was put him in daycare. I have worked a third shift job, worked full time 9-5 jobs, and have missed out on so much when it came to my children. But no more! I am on my journey to being able to completely be present at home with my family. Doing these 3 things have gotten me going.
- Don’t procrastinate This was vital for me in the beginning! My desire to want to start my own business began with an MLM opportunity a good friend introduced me to. I kept putting it off and thinking it was something I couldn’t do. Sales? Honestly, I didn’t see myself as being a salesperson. So what did I do? I procrastinated! I hate I wasted time getting started, but once I did, I realized how much I loved it. Being able to have something that is yours, building it the way you want, is so amazing.
- Invest in yourself This is usually a hard one for entrepreneurs, especially moms. Why moms? Because we have other obligations that make it hard for us to invest in ourselves. Our kids and husbands have needs that we feel have to be met first. Moms seem to always put themselves last on the priority list. But in this case, you can’t afford to! Pay for that e-course, go to that conference, do whatever you need to do in order to grow your knowledge and be the best boss ever.
- Be passionate in what you do If you lack passion, what you are doing will fail. Choose an avenue that you genuinely love doing. Start with the broad spectrum. For me, that was helping others. Then I had to hone in on exactly how I wanted to help people. My thing is helping other moms and women. I love being able to do just that. So whatever business avenue you decide to take, be sure you love doing it or else you won’t get very far.
Now is the time for you to stop questioning yourself. Yes, start that business! I know that you can do this. I doubted myself too. But you don’t have to. I am here for you! Connect with me and let’s do this together! I am super excited to now be starting a new business and I will be sharing my experiences along the way. Want to learn how to be a boss?
