The Official CeoMom Rebrand

The Official CeoMom Rebrand

I know what you may be thinking. What? Why? How?

Well, don’t worry, I am going to explain it all! You can already see that the site has had a face lift and things look a little different.

To understand why things are changing, let’s start at the beginning of my blogging journey.

The Beginning

First, I want to share a little about my journey here at The Official CeoMom. When I first started blogging, I was sharing my experiences as a homeschooling mom. I shared our daily activities, trips, and lessons. I wasn’t even hip to pageviews or monetization. I was just sharing.

Once I started growing a following, I started to get strategic with my content and what I was posting on social media. I educated myself on how to grow a blog and got to work!

When my full-time job got too demanding, I had to stop homeschooling. Our family was not in a place financially for me to not work. Since I was no longer homeschooling, my blog came to a complete halt. I was working overtime and barely had time to spend with my kids. I was emotionally and physically drained.

I worked full-time as a digital marketing executive with a focus on advertising. I worked a lot of hours but my pay didn’t reflect that. I had a serious break down and got real with myself. I knew I deserved so much more. So I got back to educating myself on starting my own business. I was already working with small businesses to help them market themselves through social media, so why couldn’t I do that on my own?

So here we are two years later. I eventually left my full-time job and focused on my blog and my business. As a mom, I continued sharing my mom life experiences and got back to growing my following and connecting with other bloggers.

The Official CeoMom covered business, blogging, social media, marketing along with motherhood, baby, and reviews. Not to say these topics can’t live together on a blog, they just no longer fit my brand message here on CeoMom.

It was until this past year, that I began to see the fruits of my labor begin to flourish. My business grew, and so did my audience. After my third son was born, there were so many more things that I wanted to share on my blog but they didn’t fit my blog message, which is to help mompreneurs have better online businesses and better blogs.

The Result

I have decided it is time to rebrand, refocus, and rebuild. The Official CeoMom will now focus on my mission: blog and business building for mompreneurs and I am launching a new blog, Mom Life Chronicles, to house my more mom related topics.

I have such a mixed audience and I have had moms come to read my mom content but leave because they aren’t interested in my business content. I am a strong believer in catering your content to your audience’s needs.

My Fear

Of course, I am afraid. This is a new thing for me. I am worried that Mom Life won’t succeed. I am afraid that no one will give a hoot about what I have to share there.

BUT, the funny thing is…my word for 2017 is FEARLESS! So I am going to step out and put effort into both my business and my blogs.

My Goals

I have two major goals for each of my sites. For The Official CeoMom, I want to have 5,000 email subscribers and make $60K for the year. I am a believer in setting actionable goals and not just throwing numbers into the universe.

In order to reach my income goal, I will be releasing more digital products, using affiliate marketing and continuing my consulting business.

Another goal is to really focus on the use of Pinterest. Facebook and Pinterest are my top traffic drivers already but I want to grow it even more.

My goals for Mom Life Chronicles are to produce relatable and valuable content two times a week and also focus on Pinterest. I will also utilize affiliate marketing to monetize and generate income.

The Journey

My blogging journey has been amazing. I have grown and learned so much. I look forward to even more growth in 2017 and I am so glad you are here with me!

How incredible! It really is so cool to see where a blog has come from and how it has grown and changed over the years. AMAZING goals, and fearless is definitely the way to be <3 Thanks for sharing!

That’s awesome! I totally support your decision to cater to your audience and make a new blog for your other audience. Now you can cater to two populations and focus on each one entirely.

Over on my blog, I think about all that. My URL name obviously doesn’t scream mom biz…and I can’t NOT write about twins and being a WAHM so I just do it sparingly. I do have another URL that fits more but I’m not ready to rebrand..I need to give TM a chance and make it work for me somehow!

I love your blog and I’m excited to read about marketing as I’m also a digital marketer writer! I love learning new tips and strategies and creating my own! Congrats on the change and goals. I know you’ll smash them out of the water! You’re an amazing teacher and blogger friend and things for helping me out!

Thank you so much for all of your support! It means so much to hear those kind words! It was definitely a hard decision for me to make and of course I have a few fears. But I feel confident in my decision and I look forward to the journey ahead! You are so welcome and I hope that we can soon collaborate!
