I can NOT believe Ayden is 4 months already! If you are wondering where are the previous updates…they are in my drafts folder because I never got around to completing or publishing them.
The life of a mom blogger.
But I was determined to get this one out to the masses stat! He is growing up so fast so this update is as much for me as it is for you. I have even been slacking on updating his baby book. I will get on that as soon as I publish this post.
So much has been going lately. With the year coming to a close, there is so much to get in order for my business. I also just launched a course! So much happening! Aaah!
I just wanted to take some time to update you all on baby Ayden as well as share some of my baby favorites. I remember when I was about seven months pregnant and thinking there was nothing I needed to learn because I already knew everything. Boy was I wrong. Ayden is the third of the clan but there is a six year gap between him and Micah.
What was I thinking!?
Well, the good news is, I am now not so naive and know that there is tons more for me to learn on this journey.
Ayden is rolling over and do a lot of baby talking! He is now 13 pounds and is after my food! We plan to soon introduce some solid foods.
I also put all these together in a YouTube video that you can watch below!
Now let’s get into my favs!
This is my first time breastfeeding and that alone has been an amazing journey. I am in love with my Kids n Such nursing cover. It has a built-in burp cloth that I just love. It’s super convenient because I can nurse and literally just flip the bottom up and burp Ayden all in one swift ninja move.
Another one of my nursing favorites right now is Honest Company’s Organic Nipple Balm. Ayden is EBF (exclusively breastfed) and mamas, if you nurse then you already know! OUCH! I started out using Lanolin by Lansinoh, but it was too thick and hindered Ayden’s latch. I have found that this organic cream soothes much better and Ayden is not phased by it at all.
Another one of my favorites would have to be this adorable Boppy pillow. I literally use it for everything! It’s so worth it!
When it came time to search for a diaper pail, my initial thought was Diaper Genie. But after reading dozens of reviews, we decided on the Ubbi. You don’t have to buy special bags, you can use any kind. It has a little door that is sealed until you unlock it to throw away the diaper which keeps out those nasty odors. Four months in and I have not one complaint. It’s a little pricier than the genie, but I am glad I went with Ubbi for sure.
Now, this isn’t really a “baby item” per-say but I’m going to add this to the list because I love it so much. And that is the humidifier I use in Ayden’s room. It has 4 settings, very quiet, and has a blue night light. My favorite feature is that it will automatically shut off and the power light will flash on its own once the water has gotten low. It is basically screaming at me to refill it! Haha.
I also love the baby wipes by Burt’s Bees. I have used Pampers and Huggies but this brand has been my favorite so far.
Another one of my favorites would have to be Ayden’s car seat and stroller. We started out using a Cosco brand set. It was cute but the stroller was way to small and the car seat wasn’t adjustable. I purchased it because of the low price but should have invested more in quality and safer product. Lesson learned! We now have this Graco travel system and it’s super lightweight and the car seat is snug and has adjustable height options, which I love.
